PATOU
Art, fantasy, elegance and beauty: their harmony characterizes Patou fashion to this day. But looking at the history of the brand, rebellion is also part of it, a pleasant liberation from too narrow fashion conventions. This versatility can be discovered again and again in the womenswear of the French fashion house.

Jean Patou: Pioneer of the fashion world
As a fashion designer, Jean Patou broke rigid rules, especially in the 1920s. He shortened skirt hems, created dresses without corsets, and thus contributed to women being able to take the liberty of leaving constraints behind and emphasizing their femininity. Patou did not follow trends - he created them.
In the 1920s, when the garçonne look combined masculine and feminine fashion, offering women's pantsuits, for example, he created backless long dresses. His creativity was great and extended beyond the fashion world of the Jean Patou brand. Together with Henri Alméras, he created perfumes such as Joy, which is one of the most famous fragrances in the world.
Jean Patou died in 1936, but his fashion house lives on. Designers who subsequently worked for Patou included the young Karl Lagerfeld and Jean Paul Gaultier. In 1987, the fashion line was discontinued and they focused on the success of fragrances. It would be over 30 years before Patou fashion was brought back to life.
Patou fashion: French elegance
In 2018, Guillaume Henry became the chief designer of the revived fashion brand, which from then on was just called Patou. He preserved Patou's traditions and fused them with exciting innovation to create new timeless women's fashion. Patou fashion ranges from blouses to pants to the finest knitwear.
Today, modern Patou blouses exist in variations from simple to richly embellished, and their elegance pays homage to liberated femininity. Skirts range from mini to midi to maxi. Together with the brand's stylish dresses, they are works of art formed from fabric that dress the confident woman for different occasions.
The pants are as comfortable as they are stylish, with casual or dressy cuts, perfect for an urban lifestyle. Patou blazers are perfect companions to formal suits as well as to casual fashion. And the Patou knitwear collection proves, for example, with cardigans and sweaters in white, black or gray, how well craftsmanship harmonizes with comfortable naturalness. Patou inspires a romantic, unleashed individuality. Today as then.
